CENTRAL FLORIDACOMPENSATION & BENEFITS ASSOCIATION NETWORKING MEETING MINUTESJUNE 17, 2009 The Networking Meeting was held June 17, 2009, at the Florida Room at Dubsdread Golf Course. At approximately 6:40 p.m., Suzanne Vendena, Vice President, welcomed members and guests. She announced the August programming meeting, “Lawyers for Breakfast,” to be held August 19, 2009, at Universal’s CityWalk. Members and guests will need to RSVP to obtain complimentary parking, and all were encouraged to bring guests. The meeting will be free to paid members, with a $25 guest fee. The C17 course was announced for September. CFCBA is working with other Florida associations to obtain/offer reciprocity discounts or member rates for the certification courses in 2010, since this is currently a benefit offered by CFCBA. Course binders will no longer be provided before class start dates, and beginning in 2010, those desiring certification will need to visit a testing center within ninety  (90) days of taking a certification course to obtain their course certification since there will no longer be a third day associated with the certification courses for testing. Vanessa Crawford-Jones spoke to members and guests about the website and our blogging ability. She announced the need for a webmaster, and also referenced all members to get in touch with a Board member (Board introduced) regarding their interest in serving on various committees or becoming a Board member. Elections will be held in December, and there are openings.

CENTRAL FLORIDACOMPENSATION & BENEFITS ASSOCIATION GENERAL MEETING MINUTESFEBRUARY 25, 2009 This General Membership Meeting, a networking meeting, was held in the Banquet Meeting Room above Doc’s Restaurant.  At approximately 6:30 p.m., Vanessa Crawford Jones, President, welcomed members and guests.  She spoke of the networking opportunities of the evening’s and future networking meetings, and also referenced two programming meetings scheduled for later this year.   Suzanne Vendena, Vice President, informed the attendees regarding the upcoming CCP certification courses and the reduced course rates for CFCBA members.  The Association will hold a low-cost workshop in August at Universal Studios.  Suzanne encouraged members to contact her regarding any ideas they might have for presentations at future meetings.   Sharon Blake, Membership Director, discussed updating and future availability of the membership directory for members. The door prize, a chocolate gift basket, was won by Iris Lopez. Networking continued until approximately 8:15 p.m.
