| Job Description | JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and administration of all hourly wage, base salaries, incentive, and compensation plans, programs, and policies for all job levels throughout the Corporation. Recommends executive compensation proposals to the HR Committee of the Board, the Gerdau Board of Directors, and administers executive pay programs for Corporate Officers and the Board of Directors. This position manages the HR Committee of the Board agendas and presentations.
NATURE AND SCOPE: This position reports directly to the Vice President of Human Resources along with the Director, Human Resources, Employee Benefits Director, Communications Manager, and Human Resource Programs Manager. Duties pertain primarily to the development, recommendation, implementation, and application of corporate wage and salary administration policies, practices, and programs, including establishing rates of pay, job evaluations, and classifications throughout all company units, operations, and geographic locations. Reporting directly to this position are two highly trained Compensation Supervisors responsible for Salary Administration and Executive Compensation respectively plus two compensation analyst indirect reports. This position has strong and frequent exposure to the international parent company in Brazil and as such has constant exposure, interaction and joint projects with peers in Brazil, Spain, Latin America, China and other countries. Since the US represents a substantial portion of the business, this position is expected to represent GNA’s philosophy, pay practices, exposures, tax impacts and risks, short and long-term strategies and competitive positioning for the company. It is also expected to gain an understanding of international pay practices as they relate to both international and global solutions.

| Qualifications | The qualifications for this position include seven to ten years experience in related compensation management, including the development and implementation of variable pay programs, executive compensation, job analysis and pay rate development. The incumbent must be capable of adapting to many varied situations, circumstances, and personalities at all levels within and outside the company concerning sensitive areas, controversial subjects, and highly confidential information. Negotiating and influencing skills will be paramount. |
